This project showcases my ability to critically analyse and produce photographic work using both professional and self-taken images. I selected three professional photographs from Unsplash, by Aaron Burden (macro landscape), Gian Cescon (portrait), and Roman Kirienko (travel landscape), and evaluated them based on the photographer's background, image category, representation, intent, mood, composition techniques, and visual storytelling elements.
Alongside this analysis, I captured and documented two of my own original photographs: a cloudscape and a relaxed portrait of a student on grass. I recorded the technical details (date, location, device, ISO, f-stop) and applied visual composition principles such as the rule of thirds, leading lines, symmetry/asymmetry, and use of natural light.
Through this project, I developed my visual literacy, strengthened my understanding of how meaning is created in images, and improved my skills in both analytical critique and creative production, essential foundations for future work in advertising and media content creation.
